Registered on November 8th 1996,
China Air Express Co., Ltd., (CAE) was jointly financed by a number of
Chinese airlines and airports. It is the only company with a nationwide air
express network and Time Definite Product (TDP) in China. By relying on the
unique advantage of having more than 900 domestic air routes and 129
airports and by insisting on the principles of "high standard, strict
demands, effectiveness and first-class service". CAE is aiming at a
network with Time Definite Products as the "bellwether", the
network establishment as the key project and the information management as
the orientation. Facing fierce market competition, CAE has been paying
great attention to consolidating the foundation, enhancing the capability,
founding famous new brands, keeping its foothold in domestic market and
expanding its international network. At present, CAE has already taken
shape in China, with its headquarters in Beijing.
The rapid
expansion in the development of ground network and a number of regional
collecting and distributing centers has been established. CAE has already
set up more than 40 branch companies or subsidiaries.There are 22 network
members operating under the same brand and rules and 144 business
departments all over the country. They are located in Beijing, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shenyang, Xiamen, Xi'an, Harbin, Shandong,
Qingdao, Yantai, Zhengzhou, Hubei, Hainan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Ningxia, Sanya,
Fujian, Chongqing, Hebei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Dongguan, Foshan, Shunde, Dalian,
Yasibo, Liutong, Zhuhai, Ningbo, Guizhou, Huhehot, Hangzhou, Lasa, Lanzhou,
Changchun, HongKong, and Xinjiang. Currently, the CAE network has covered
287 large and medium size cities all over China. A nation-wide air express
network has been formed. Besides, four regional collection and distribution
centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong have also started to
take shape.
CAE is the
first company to provide Time Definite Product service in China. It can
deliver international cargo to every corner of the world. At the end of
1996, the company took the lead to introduce 12-，24-，36-and
48 hours door-to-door services within CAE nationwide network systems, and
promised to "refund freight for overdue delivery". CAE has also
set up seven international express delivery passages in Guangzhou (Hong
Kong), Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen, Zhuhai (Macao), Qingdao and Dalian, and
an express delivery center that is under the supervisions of the Custom in
Guangzhou. In addition, a thorough-path has been opened between Guangzhou
and Hong Kong, which enables CAE's international business to reach
everywhere in the world. In the past few years, the volume and revenue of
express delivery has been increased considerably every year. CAE is taking
the leading position in China in terms of on-time service with good image
and reputation.
CAE got the
ISO9000-2000 certification on the service of air express, cargo and
logistics in July 2001. It has been focusing its service on meeting the
customers' requirements. Based on the ISO9000-2000 international quality
system, CAE revised the service standards guiding the whole process of
time-definite-product of air express, cargo and logistics. As a result, the
infrastructure facilities and the computer system have been improved, and
the quality supervision department has been set up.
An in-house
network linking the headquarters with all its branches has been set up. The
newly established Comprehensive Management Information System makes it
possible to track the delivery performance and to manage all information.
The Internet enabled status tracking system of CAE can provide convenient
and quick status tracking and inquiries service. The GPS-based vehicle
positioning system and the automatic voice inquiry system developed and
installed in some branch companies can provide more convenient information
feedback and inquiry service. In addition, with the EDI electronic customs
declaration system, CAE can provide more efficient customs declaration
service to customers.
A logistics
transportation system covering the civil airports has been developed all
over China. In order to provide services at every level to customers, CAE
has been constantly improving its capability of transport and dispatch. It
has various types of vehicles for transport and customs supervision. CAE
can provide air service and land service as required by customers.
At
present, three land transport network centers have been formed in Zhujiang
River Delta, Yangzi River Delta and Northern China. The land transport
networks among provinces, cities, regions as well as between neighboring
provinces and cities have also been developed. As a result, more and more
famous international and domestic enterprises are becoming our customers.
CAE has
all the required certificates and licenses. CAE has acquired the business
license, the certificate of international freight transport agency, the
certificate of civil aviation agency for international and domestic freight
transport, the warranty of customs agency, and the qualification to operate
charters and taxi aircrafts. All of these certificates ensure CAE provides
effective and reliable services to customers. Currently, CAE is the
executive member of China International Freight Transport Association.
CAE has
plans to promote modern express delivery and logistics during the tenth
national "Five singular word Plans" period. It has the ambition
to be the first class large-scale Air Express enterprise.
